Wishing You... Cake & Chocolate!

I've recently spent some time on holiday on the great Murray River forced to sit down and do nothing. As I couldn't take my Copics away with me, I was able to put my new collection of Distress Markers into my bag to have a play with. This is one of the images I was able to quietly colour up for Challenge #19 is starting over at Scrapbooker PhD Challenge Blog. Challenge #19 is to create a 'Masculine Birthday card using a Die'. Here is my DT inspiration for you.

Distress Markers: Skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet
                             Hair: Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw 
                             Clothes: Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord, Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean.
                             Shoes/Wand: Gathered Twig, Brushed Corduroy
Papers: Kaiser Craft 'Off the Wall' paper pack, cardstock
Dies: Memory Box Beloved Star (modified), Spellbinders Curved Rectangle
Other: Weathered Wood Distress ink, sequins, Kindyglitz.

My favourite embellishment is dies. I love how versatile they are, how you can get them in pretty much any design and can modify them to make them fit your image. For example the above card used this die which I modified to look like a spell had been cast.
